Christian County's central U.S. location offers business the benefits of lower transportation costs and shorter drive times to the majority of the nation’s population. Ideally located within a day’s drive of several large metropolitan cities, Christian County is in the center of the nation’s transportation system.

Five state highways - Illinois 16, 29, 48, 51, and 104 - serve the communities of Pana and Taylorville. Interstate Highways 55 and 72 make for easy north-south and east-west travel and are located within 25 miles of Taylorville. lllinois Route 29 directly connects Pana and Taylorville with the state capital – Springfield.

Christian County is accessible to 4 airports to serve both pleasure and the business traveler. The city of Taylorville operates its own private airport and Shelbyville's private airport is just a short drive away. Nearby, Decatur and Springfield each house commercial airports that feature four commercial airlines, offering at least 25 commercial air flights daily.

Christian County communities are also served by two class one railroads - the Norfolk Southern and Union Pacific, plus two shortline railroads - the Chicago and Illinois Midland Railroad Company and Decatur Junction.
